After acquiring Leon Draisaitl, it was thought that Vegas was primed for another dominant regular season and a deep run in the playoffs. Returning it's star-studded defense and Vezina trophy winning goalie, adding a superstar like Draisaitl should boost the offense, making an already potent Vegas attack even more deadly....right?
So far, that hasn't panned out.
After being at or near the top of every team statistical category last year, this year Vegas sits in the middle or bottom of almost every important measure.

Everything about this team has screamed 'mediocre' since Game 1 of the 2024 regular season. Vegas has lost 4 out of their last 5, with their only win squeaked out against a team that has lost 8 games in a row. After their latest loss, a 5-0 shutout at the hands of Ottawa, GM Tom Jervis can wait no longer to make changes.
