Despite a hot start to the season that has the Sharks top of the league with a 13-2-0 record, rumours are awash of a potential revolt in the dressing room.
Inside sources who wish to remain anonymous have suggested that a number of star players within the Sharks organisation are refusing to sit down with management to work on contract extensions. GM Aldrich supposedly reached out early this year in an attempt to tie down key players to long term deals, but found himself stonewalled by player agents. At first the belief was that this was a tactic being employed by the agents in order to demand higher salaries. The hot start to the season has a number of players producing big numbers and the players in question wanted a chance to produce over the length of a full season in order to justify big contracts. However, the source inside the organisation has stated that the reality is the players in question are fed up with the "extortionate" income taxes within the state, as well as high berth rental costs for yachts in the local marinas. No word yet on which players are leading the potential exodus, but several big names including all four current leading scorers (Connor McDavid, Alex Pietrangelo, Roope Hintz and Tyler Toffoli) are out of contract at the end of the season.
We will keep you updated as the story continues to develop...

San Jose does not sit on the ocean so the yacht comment is interesting. Although it is much closer than most of the Canadian teams where taxes are also much higher. Great article!

I mean I can't say with any certainty, but I would assume some of the wealthy elite of San Jose don't live in the city proper and are spread out in and around San Fran bay and some of the more wealthy coastal communities...
