The Philadelphia Flyers made some big changes in the offseason. The hot rumour about Quinn Hughes turned out to be true. Shipped to the Winnipeg Jets for Morgan Frost and Alexander Romanov. The fans of this city are still confused as to why GM Gosal decided to get rid of one of their best offensive defenseman.
GM Gosal says the team needed a big wakeup call after falling short in the first round of the playoffs last season. He emphasized on gaining size and being a meaner team in the playoffs something Romanov definitely brings to the table.
"We have lots of defenseman who can produce points but lack a true a shutdown defenseman. Someone who can block shots and be relied upon to carry the pk unit. Morgan Frost and Patrice Bergeron bring some much needed depth as we have all seen getting far in the playoffs requires production from everybody."
The Flyers seem to have more depth this season all around and seem to be built for some tough hockey. Only time will tell if GM Gosal has made the right decisions regarding this team.
The East is definitely up for grabs this season as the reigning Stanley Cup Champs have decided to enter a rebuild. One might say this is the best chance the Flyers have in punching a ticket to the finals.
Stay tuned for more in the following updates throughout the year. Thanks!
