Nothing less than the Cup in Ottawa

After finishing last year in the conference finals with an exit to the Cup champions Panthers, nothing less than winning the cup this year will be accepted. The team is well balanced. Strong on the top 6 with the addition of Drouin and Chytil with Kreider, Monahan and Meier all inking a long term 4 years contract with the club. Top 4 defense is also very solid with Fox (4 year contract signed), Provorov, Severson (4 year contract signed) and Slavin. In nets, 2 young goalies in Swaymen and Erson will look to be one of the top G tandems in the league. But look for GM Bell to not be very patient with Swaymen in the beginning of the season as last year he was not performing up to his standard after the team picked him up. So if it's the same story in the early stages of the season, GM Bell will be hitting the phones to move him. The core is strong and signed long term. The future will determine if last year playoff success can continue in the regular season.
