After round 1 and 2 of the dispersal draft have ended, you may choose a new contract length for the players that you chose in round 1 and 2. WHY DO THIS? - You might want your younger players to have their contract expire while they are still RFA, maximizing their years of control for the GM.
- You might want to take a player with a relatively cheap contract and make sure they have the maximum length of contract(4 years) possible
- You might want to maximize the years that a UFA age player stays with your team before they have the potential to test off-season UFA markets.
- You might want to plan for the longer term, and make sure they do not have the same contract expiry date as many of the other players on your team, allowing for a smoother operation
Whatever the reason, YOU are in control of this one. If you are struggling with the math to make sure the player's contract ends while still RFA, then just ask for that, and we will make sure it works for you. We will have a list of all players here and their current terms, and then adjust them and notate that when you choose to adjust. Simply make a thread in the this forum, with the players name, and the term desires you have.
