William Nylander

Had several options for a Nylander deal, but getting the 3rd overall pick in a very strong draft helps me get an elite prospect who'll be ready by this time next year while freeing up valuable cap space. I had too much depth on the wings and needed to balance my pro and future assets after making a run for it this past season.

I feel my team has another gear if I can provide it with the right reinforcements. Nylander instantly slots into my top line giving my team more balance and depth. The 3rd overall pick would have been nice, but after deciding not to go into a rebuild, it didn't make sense to use the pick as I can't afford to wait 3-4 years for that pick to 'hopefully' develop. I need the roster help now and Nylander checked all of the boxes I needed for my top 6.
