Connor Brown, forward for the Detroit Red Wings, was thoroughly exhausted after the bag skate he was forced to do on Thursday evening at the hands of coach Jeremy Colliton. After practice, he lay hunched in a corner, in obvious pain and exhaustion.
During his nightly 'arena walk', GM Lundgren noticed the young man and couldn't help but ask if he was okay. Brown could barely talk. He followed that up by handing him a bag of Meatballs, which he keeps in his suit pocket for this type of emergency. Devouring the meatballs, and refreshed from "Flavours of the Nile", Connor Brown recovered and went home for a good night's rest. The next day, Brown's agent got in touch with the RedWings office to inform them that he no longer wished to go straight to UFA, and would be willing to stay in Detroit for 3 more years if they paid him $6mil/year, with a signing bonus of $2.7mil.
