To New Jersey: Jesper Bratt
To Dallas: Denis Gurianov Noah Ostlund (p) 2024 CGY 1st
I had zero intentions on trading Bratt. I was fully intending to lock him up long term and have him as a piece to build around for years to come. I valued his PH and PA abilities highly and he fit extremely well into my top 6 but thought I would explore the possibility of at least trading him before committing to him. in any potential deal I told GM's that would take a lot for me to move him because I am competing to win now and valued his skill set highly. When I put him on the block, Mike was after him from day 1 and has been a thorn in my side up until this point to wanting to acquire him. In this trade, I get a replacement player in Gurianov who gives us cost certainty even though the skill set is not that of a Bratt and 2 future pieces to help stock the cupboards as they were pretty barren in Big D. Thank you Mike for your patience after these LONG talks. Bratt will be greatly missed, but felt that the return was good enough to make the deal despite trying to win now.

While a week ago I had zero interest in moving Gurianov, funny what can happen in a week. Clearly an upgrade for the Devils. Having the extra 1st to move was vital. Thanks for the talks, apologies for being a bit of a pest but Bratt is a player that can be a cataclysmic change.
