Many do not know this, but Florida Panthers GM Jay Seo is actually an amateur astronomer. When we say amateur, we're talking as close to professional as possible without actually getting paid.
His setup is REALLY nice.
On Saturday, February 18th, at about 3p.m. CENTRAL time, Jay was exploring the skies, enjoying his favourite weekend habit of writing down commercial airliner tail designations, and blending them into a word search by day's end. Jay spotted something that he did NOT expect to see.
He noticed what seemed to be a weather balloon floating a little higher than commercial flight levels, and that concerned him. As he pulled out his super-zoom scope, he zeroed in and realized that the large inflatable was actually transporting Kirill Kaprisov's entire family illegally into the the great state of Florida.
Always looking for a way to get the upper hand in a negotiation, rather than calling the authorities, GM Seo shot the balloon down safely over his back yard, where the illegal migrants landed in his extra deep pool(Jay's other hobby is actually the high-dive).
With the family safe, and duct taped together in his garage, he immediately called Kirill Kaprisov, and told him the great news.

Today, just minutes ago, Kirill Kaprizov has changed his mind, and has stated he would be willing to forgo the RFA process, if the Panthers signed the following deal for him:

$11,060,000/yr for 1 year, with a signing bonus of $1,659,000.
