The Columbus Blue Jackets would like announce AGM Mike Lafond--ML as he's known to the team--will be taking over on an interim basis while GM Sean Hanley is on sabbatical climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro. AGM Mike Lafond was most recent GM for the Rock Pile of the Dakota CC Men's League in Winnipeg, MB.
"It feels surreal to be here in the PFHL. I have been waiting for an opportunity like this for a while now." - AGM ML
Mike takes over a Columbus team that is sitting just outside the final wildcard in the Eastern Conference. The team has superstar potential with wingers Nitkita Kucherov and Brad Marchand. The two players have been carrying the team thus far. The remainder of the team is struggling to make their mark. Columbus' starting keeper Bishop is having an mediocre start posting a sub .900Sv% while facing the 10th most shots in the league.
Interim AGM ML is confident he can help turn the team around with support of the coaching staff. "I think with Ben, he has the support of the coaching staff and we are going to provide him with everything he needs to be the best player he can be."
ML is looking forward to working with such powerful players Kucherov and Marchand saying, "With those two horses upfront, I feel like we can score at will, We just have to make sure we get them the puck."
It's a big task taking over a team part way through the season and ML has his work cut out for him.
"I am going to take the next few days to look over the roster and see what we need to do to take this team to the next level, Our PK could use some improvement so that is going to get looked at first." - AGM ML

The entire state of Ohio wishes Hanley the best of luck scaling Kilimanjaro and is looking forward to ML's tenure with the Blue Jackets.
