What is going on with the Blues
After only 1 month with the new Blues GM, everything seems to go wrong in Missouri. GM Charles-A. Poulin reign started great with 2 wins in 3 games after he was hired, but now we are dealing with a 6 games loosing streak. Looking at the scoreboard, it's easy to want every players on this team to be traded, but theses losses were competitive games for the Blues. In fact, three of those six games were lost by 1 goal.
When he was asked about the situation, GM Poulin told us: "It's frustrating for everyone here. We can all hear the fans and the medias who are also frustrated with this bad streak. It's sad, cause the team is playing pretty well and guys wanna win more than anyone else. They play to win and that's the mindset of pro players... But you cannot win games when only one line plays their asses off. One night it's the first line, the other night it's the third line who lights up... and we can't win if not all four lines play well.'' The frustration in GM Poulin answers was pretty clear. ''On a personnal note, yeah I'm frustrated with the loosing streak. I know we can and we will do better. Every good teams always have those low moments and now we are in the thick of it. I trust this group and I know that we're gonna be alright.''
During in his daily interview, the Captain of the Blues, John Tavares seems to be calm with the situation. ''I've been in this situation many times in my hockey career. Yeah it's frustrating, but we know what we need to do. My role with this group of guys, is to bring everyone together and win games.'' When asked about his low production recently, the Captain was pretty honest. ''I need to do more, yeah I do.. On and off the ice to be honest. Marnie (Marner) and Buch are the best wingers I could ask for. So everything is there. We just need to play better and we will.''

Connor Murphy, the new aquisition of the Blues, had a rough start last night against the Chicago Blackhawks with 0 points, a -2 ratio and 4 PIM. ''I've just arrived in St-Louis two days ago and I'm still staying at the hotel with my wife and kids. We are looking to buy a house for the family, but I need to forget all of that and focus on my game tonight.'' Connor is playing with Nate Schmidt on the first duo, so it seems that Rick Tocchet is expecting alot from the new guy. ''No I don't feel the pressure from the coaches or the staff. The pressure I feel comes from myself. I wanna play well night in, night out ... Nate is playing out of his mind this season. You can hear his name being call out in every PFHL locker rooms. His the best D in PFHL at the moment. No questions there.''
When we talked with Rick Tocchet about the recent streak, he wanted to send a clear message. ''We need to play better. No excuses. This is not the standards we demand here.'' When he was asked about which players he wanted to see improvements, he was also straight forward. ''Everyone. That's it. Every single guy in this locker room needs to do better and it starts today against the Predators.''
It all start tonight against the Predators who are also struggling right now. Robin Lehner should be in net tonight. He was the first one off the ice this morning after a long and intense trainning session for the Blues.
Could we see more moves from GM Poulin if the team keep struggling. ''No comments.''
