A few days ago the Caroliana Hurricanes had announced the signing of their new GM and team president Wes Mucyk. This morning the team held a press conference.
Mucyk "ugh, where am I? Who are all these people? Who am I?
Front Row Reporter "you are the new GM of the Carolina Hurricanes"
Mucyk "oh, sweet. Did I sleep here last night?"
Beckinsale "yes you did."
Mucyk "better call the w.."
Beckinsale "already did, she knows what is going on. You are at Defcon 3."
Mucyk " Great! Still got some wiggle room." he say's as he get's to his feet and sway's his way in the direction of the podium.
Mucyk" Hey, what do the Carolina Hurricanes and the Titanic have in common? They both look good until they hit the ice! haha, oh, wait, umm...let me start over. Good morning everyone, thank you for coming. I am grateful for this opportunity and would like to take this time to thank the Carolina Hurricanes organization and the PFHL for giving me this chance.
Standing next to me is my beautiful assistant Kate Beckinsale. She makes it easier to receive bad news. We plan to reach out to several people over these next few days as we search for an assistant GM, start to put together our coaching staff and rework some of the current scouting and medical teams.
We will have a base of a foundation to work with, from there my front office team and I will put together a list to draft our new look Carolina organization. I can promise you this, there is a hurricane coming and it is going to tear through all of the PFHL. Unless of course, depending on how the draft is going, I may take back that promise and build for the future, in which case the "hockey expects" will be predicting a major storm will be tearing through the PFHL at one point in time or another. I promise you this, nothing....ummm did I have pants on at some point"
