The Canucks made a move today, sending promising young defenseman Olli Joulevi to the St. Louis Blues organization, and welcoming Mike Reilly in return.
The move was made as the Canucks have been experiencing defensive depth issues on the pro squad all year long. Mike Reilly looks to bring his skillset to the team and slot in at the 3/4 defenseman spot besides the currently injured Jani Haakanpaa.
Although GM Sanderson was unavailable for comment, it is expected that Reilly will lead the third Defense pairing alongside Justin Holl, assuming they find chemistry.
The Abbotsford Canucks(AHL) will have a glaring hole at D left by the departure of Joulevi, and you can expect that more moves will be made to repair that before too long.
