The Vancouver Canucks held an optional practice today upon arrival in New York and, not surprisingly, it was attended by all members of the Canucks squad. "We heard that their GM, that European guy that always wears those white leather shorts, was calling us out, and it was a big motivator to be honest" said Adam Fox, the team's young assistant captain. William Karlsson offered the following; "I know 'Tickles' (GM Westman) from his time as lead stick taper for the Swedish National Team, he thinks it's helping his team out by running his mouth, but really it's just a motivator.....I think it's cute that the Islanders let him manage the team there, really cute actually!" "No Comment" was the official comment from Vancouver GM Aaron Sanderson. The Canucks face the Islanders tonight, at Scott Davidson O'clock, on Long Island.

I'm calling a 2-1 Islanders win in a tense affair.

Cute little piece, especially in retrospective… And GM Sanderson doesn’t know more about Sweden (apart from Switzerland) more than he does about creating a winning team. Better start out taping sticks and end up as a GM for a Cup contender than the opposite, like some… 😎
