To WPG: Quinn Hughes, Connor Bunnaman, 2024 BOS 3rd, $1,500,000 cash
To PHI: Alexander Romanov, Morgan Frost, Mavric Lamoureaux (prospect), 2024 VGK 1st
Biggest deal I've made to date, for sure. Wasn't on the radar but had great negotiations with Gary and it coalesced into the above swap.
Hughes is obviously a franchise cornerstone so this was too good an opportunity to pass up. Obviously it cost us a bit, but we have ample resources in the youth department, and with where Frost and Romanov are in terms of their development, we are confident that Hughes' potential as we rebuild far outweighs what we moved out here.
This isn't a shift in our plans - just as I said, an opportunity to get a franchise player who will be around as we build things up. Look out 2025 and 2026 especially!
