San Jose New Ownership
July 3rd, 2024
The San Jose Sharks are proud to announce the hiring of Chris Fekete. He brings many years of SIM hockey experience and his vast knowledge of prospects, players and hockey knowledge make him the most suitable person for this job. Relocating from Vancouver, BC, Canada to the California area will be a very nice uproot and Chris is looking forward to the change as well as the work that will be put in to make the Sharks a team that will be tough to beat year in and year out.
Currently, the free agents to be in San Jose are: Nico Sturm, Ondrej Palat, Nino Niederreiter, David Perron, and Dmitry Orlov. Now that may seem like that's a lot to lose but they will be addressed in free agency/trades as the depth chart below is what San Jose has as we are currently in the offseason in the way of forwards
Hintz - McDavid - ?
Kuokkanen - Seguin - Toffoli
Aston-Reese - ? - Nichushkin
Halbgewachs - Pederson - Robinson
On defense and goaltending, the Sharks are pretty much set. This is what they are at below.
? - Pietrangelo
Klefbom - Reilly
Niku - Murphy
Extra: Schenn
Nedeljkovic
Husso
Yes, there seems to be some open roster spots and approximately 12M to play with but that number could increase/decrease with some possible moves which we know that'll happen. All in all, the team looks like they are in good shape and it's now the job of Chris Fekete to put the pieces together and continue the success of San Jose.

I'd like to thank the PFHL for this great opportunity. I'd also like to thank Matt Rensby-Wills for his hard work and wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors. I am looking forward to bringing this franchise a lot of continued success and with the best player in the world in Connor McDavid, we will always make sure that he remains the cornerstone of this franchise and is the face of the PFHL. Over the next few days, I will be analyzing what will be done in the off-season and address ways we can make our team stronger than it already is. I look forward to discussing trade talks with the other GM's in the league and making an impact. Thank you all for your time.
