To Detroit Nikita Kucherov (FLA retains $2.31M of Kucherov's salary through 2024-25) Andrei Vasilevskiy
To Florida Leon Draisaitl Juuse Saros
This is a deal to end all deals.
I had no intention of trading Vasilevskiy when I dealt Leo Carlsson to acquire him, but part of the reason I asked for significant retention on Vasilevskiy's salary was because I wanted flexibility to deal him if I ever went in another direction. Kucherov has been great for me, but I couldn't pass up the opportunity to add a franchise centre in Draisait who carried Detroit to a Cup final last season, and I'm taking a calculated gamble that the drop-off from Vasilevskiy to Saros won't be a big one.
Thanks Mathias for the great talks for an absolutely mammoth deal. I hope this works for both of us.

Detroit accepets the above stated deal, never thought in a million years I would deal Draisaitl, but here we are on the outside peeking in towards the playoffs and something needed to happen, Vasi has always been on my radar and a chance to finally add him was just to hard to pass on, cost is great but we feel that the drop from Draisaitl to Kucherov aint that much seeing what we gain in Vasi against Saros, as Saros has never really been the reliable goaltender we hoped he would be when we traded for him from Florida, so we hope he will like it now as he returns. Great talks as usuall Jay, always a pleasure!
