Thanks Jim for the funny and cordial negotiations over the last few days, took us a while to pull this off. Really wanted a #1 defenseman to round out my roster, and am taking a calculated risk on two top-end UFAs in Doughty and Copp. Lindgren and Labanc should be really nice pieces for a Dallas retool that doesn't need all that much work to get back to the league's elite. Probably the toughest trade i've had to make here. Yes, I'm losing the best 2 players in the trade, but both were headed to free agency. I had another solid offer on the table that was more future rich, but I decided to take the deal that keeps me more competitive and manage my assets while doing so.
