With Drysdale and Provorov joining Ottawa, the need for an offensive Dman wasn't needed anymore and we where looking for a more experienced older dman to help mentor the likes of Mintyukov and Drysdale. We had sent many interest calls to different GM's but Severson was a defenseman we really wanted. Still young, signable for 4 more years, a high DF defenseman who can pass the puck should fit perfectly with the young core. Adding Foligno for his penalty kill, toughness, expenrience and leadership will help with our playoff push. Giving up Lutz is a bummer but that's how it works, there's always a price to pay
