We wanted a young winger we could develop and Vegas was the 2nd team I had contacted to move Beniers. Boldy is only 1 year older than Beniers, rated pretty much the same, cap hit the same and he's having a great NHL season so far!

We get a player with an eye towards the future where Giroux is retired and Wennberg isn't on the team anymore. Beniers will be our center of the future and hopefully future franchise player. He already has some tremendous ratings including 88 PA, 79 SC and 98 SK, and only 21 years old. My only hesitation was his FO rating, which is only 66 right now but we should be able to develop that. I know he's having a pretty bad NHL season but I'm happy with where his ratings are now. Top line centers are tough to come by and I think this makes a lot of sense.
