21 games into the season and the Philadelphia Flyers sit pretty at top of the Metro division with a record of 14-6-1. Their is no standout player on Philadelphia this season. The scoring is well spread out as everyone is chipping in. That's the whole motto of the Flyers. Ryan O`Rielly leads the Flyers in points so far on offense and Quinn Hughes has 19 points in 21 games on defense. In the offseason Johnny Gaudreau and Brad Marchand were both acquired to be difference makers on the team and both are doing their part just fine. Some may say they need to produce a little more to justify their salaries but Philly's GM is content with the production as long as they keep winning as a team.
Chris Dreidger and Fredrerik Anderson are manning the cage this season and Driedger has struggled a bit compared to last season. Anderson has only played a few games on the other hand and has looked solid in his performances. We would really like to see Dreidger get back to his groove as that would help the Flyers big time on continuing their winning ways.
Special Teams has been nothing short of a disaster this season. Sitting at 23rd in the league for PP and 20th in the league for PK. "There definitely need to be some changes made on the special teams. Whether it's changing the way we play or giving opportunities to diifferent players but something needs to happen" said the GM of the Flyers. One could only imagine where the Flyers would be had the special teams been firing on all cylinders.
