Oilers fans loving the start to the PFHL season
It has been a great start to the season for the Edmonton Oilers. After 18 games the Oilers sit 2nd in the PFHL Pacific Division with a 12-4-2 record after 18 games. As amazing of a start the Oilers are having, they cannot afford to let up as the rest of the Pacific division is nipping at their heels. “It is crazy how good this division is. Everytime we look at the out of town scoreboard it is really no surprise to see that Pacific teams keep winning. It is kinda frustrating to be honest.” Said Oilers Torey Krug. Krug is having a great season leading the Oilers D-Core with 28 points on the season, trailing only Oscar Klefbom of the San Jose Sharks
The Oilers have gotten off to a hot start, and have both Captain Bo Horvat (14-23-37) and Patrik Laine (15-22-37) tied for the league lead in points with the cheesy moustached Austin Matthews. The Oilers started the season on a 5 game winning streak which could be attributed to the play of Thatcher Demko. “It really starts in the defensive end. Thatcher was lights out to start the season, and we are really comfortable with rookie Stuart Skinner between the pipes.” Head Coach Craig Berube stated after their morning skate in Washington today.
This Oilers continue their 4 game road trip tonight in Washington, looking for another 2 points to try and make some ground on the league leading Juggernaut Vegas Golden Knights. The Oilers then return home for games versus the Ducks and the mighty Golden Knights.
Trade winds have been swirling around the PFHL as of late, but GM Travis Chorostkowski seems to continue hanging onto all of his cherished toys as he really has never been active on the trade market. We will see if this year is any different if the Oilers remain a top team in the PFHL as we slowly get closer to the trade deadline and things heating up around the PFHL.
