TO WASHINGTON Francouz
Stetcher
Ponomaryov (p)
DAL 7 2024
TO DALLAS Campbell (800k retained)
Poolman
Abols
NJD 3 2024
So let me break this one down.
Francouz/Stecher/Ponomaryov for Campbell, DAL 7 for Poolman and I am paying the 3rd to take Abols to the woodshed.
Campbell has been having issue with the Caps so far and although making a downgrade ratings wise, Francouz has that playoff experience and we are going with a 1a/1b goalie tandem with Francouz/Rask instead of a starter/backup system.
The biggest win for me here is the money I am saving by moving out Poolman and Abols. Stetcher is a capable and cheaper option for my bottom pairing D and as a Canes fan, Ponomaryov is a promising prospect that I am happy to add to my severely lacking prospect cupboard. The 3rd is to help Jim deal with the prospect of having to buy out Poolman and Abols.
So basically the win out of this for me is not necessarily the players coming back but the money I am saving in dumping Poolman/Abols and Campbell. Thanks for the talks Jim.

I agree to the above posted trade. It took a bit to piece it together but I believe it serves both teams well.
The toughest part of the deal was the sentimental part of moving away from Francouz who has been a legend in Dallas. But bringing in Campbell is a huge improvement (ratings wise). But that doesn't seem to matter to Sir Simon T, so we'll see how it goes. Campbells small retention just evens out the cap hits going back and forth. Stetcher is a good bottom paring guy who deserves to be playing more and will get that chance in Washington. Jay has been after me for months for Ponomaryov, so now he finally lands him. I don't lose any significant future pieces here but take it in the teeth financially, but willing to take the gamble on Campbell that he stabilizes the goaltending.
Thanks for the talks Jay.
