**Predator Corner 11/15**
Hi PFHL, I'm Kriss Mason and we are back in the Predator corner today with some very good news!!
Don't look now but the Preds are on a roll having won 4 straight games after a pitiful 3-8 start that included two separate 3 game losing streaks.
It started with a convincing 7-1 win against the Flames in which the backend put up some imprerssive offensive numbers. Rasmus Andersson and Juuso Valimaki had 3 points a piece and Cale Makar pitched in with 2 points. The Preds power play stepped up converting on 2 of 3 chances.
The second game saw the Preds dispatch the Jets 3-0 with Tristan Jarry making 20 saves for a shutout and Robert Thomas scoring 2 goals and adding an assist in what coach described as a "very clinical win".
The exact opposite can be said for the game against the Coyotes where the safeties were off and it was a shootout. The Preds got 44 shots on Vejmelka, including Cale Makar getting 4 assists while Owen Power and Jason Robertson netting two goals a piece and Robertson would bury the shootout winner as the Preds won 6-5 in a shootout. Of note in this one, Nashville had 10 Power play chances, coverting two.
Lastly, the Preds hosted the Ducks and the defense showed up again with a 3-2 win in which the team gave up 5 shots in the 3rd period and really locked down the Ducks down the stretch. Jarry would pick up his 4th win in a row making 22 saves.
This win streak has vaulted the Preds to within 1 point of a playoff spot but there is some traffic in a very competitive Central division to start the year. The Blues and Wild are leading the way with Nashville, Chicago and Dallas currently battling to find their spot in this division.
When we asked coach about what could be improved, he pointed out faceoffs. "We are not competitive in faceoff stats and late in games if we are battling, we need to better and win some faceoffs to control play"
Unfortunately for Nashville, they are now off until Saturday so it will be important to keep this momentum up and look to extend this streak to 5 wins against Chicago.
