Heading into the 2023 PFHL Entry Draft the Carolina Hurricanes own a total of 12 draft picks, and, not including those playing down on their farm team, 26 prospects.
Some of Carolina's top prospects include: Simon Edvinsson, Dylan Guenther, Logan Cooley, Scott Morrow and Alexander Nikishin.
GRADUATED: Playing up with the pro team next season will be Dylan Cozens, Alexis Lafreniere, Andrew Peeke and Braden Schneider.
The organization is very happy with their prospect depth at every position. Currently their deepest positional strength within the organization is down the middle with PLD and Cozens having already established themselves as top 6 guys and top prospect Logan Cooley on the way.
OFFSEASON MOVES SO FAR: The team nutritionists and sports scientists put Captain PLD on a strict program. Stepping on the scale the other day (SZ changes) the QC native, 1st Carolina organizations selection has already gained a solid 9 pounds of muscle. Science!
Winger Mathieu Joseph was told to build his cardio endurance up (EN ADJ) He has been spotted around town putting in a lot of extra time on the bike and in the pool.
The organization signed on two new scouts to their staff.
DECISIONS: Where will Jake Gardiner play? If it's on the pro team then somebody will need to be traded as that would give the team 8 pro Dmen.
Send Dylan Cozens away for special (VHL/NHL re-rate) offseason training?
Is highly touted prospect Logan Cooley willing to move to the wing? With the Hurricanes already having captain Pierre Luc-Dubois and Dylan Cozens down the middle as the top 2 centers, to play in their top six he would need to move to the wing.
RFA Dman Braden Schneider has been qualified by the club. The young blueliner may receive some interest in the way of an offer sheet.
Give Dylan Cozens an "A" on his jersey which would mean Burakovsky would most likely be the guy to lose the letter on his jersey.
Who will flank Dylan Cozens on the 2nd line? Burakovsky or Nyquist? and will it be Vatrano on the other side or will GM and Team President Wes Mucyk look to bring in someone else to take that spot?
The crease? Who will be in it? The organization has a few guys in the pipeline that they are really high on, but nothing that can make the jump to be standing between the pipes for the Hurricanes within the next 2 season's, so this position will most likley need to be filled from outside the organization.
