Senators still on top at midway point!!

Well we are now at 50 games to the season and Ottawa is still on top of the overall standings but being chased by the likes of the Sabres, Sharks, Panthers and Vegas, all looking to take the No.1 spot in the overall standings. After having much of the team on the trade block at the begining of the season, the players started to play at the level management was expecting. The D core is amongst the best in the league including top D honors in the league in points which at the moment belongs to Oliver-Ekman Larson. 7 of our players have 50 points or more and the 3rd line is also contributing massively to the success. Tolvanen which we gave lots in return to land him is turning out to be exactly what Ottawa was expecting from him. Already with 36 points in 50 games with a +16 and almost to the 20 goals mark in only is 2nd year in the league. The objective was to compete with the top teams in the league and GM Mike Bell couldn't be happier. The biggest surprise at the moment would be the farm team, the Belleville Senators, which was one of the worst team at the begining of the year to now 6th in the eastern conference with an 8th win in a row and counting.
