We check back in the desert after 30 games, a 3-4-3 record in the last 10 has the Coyotes still 5 points back of the 3rd playoff spot in the Central Division. Conversely, Arizona sits a mere 7 points from last overall.
Dylan Larkin is still pacing the way with another (4-8) 12 points, including a 5 point effort in game 30. Nazim Kadri also had 5 points in the last game, but that was more than half of his 9 points in the 10 game segment. The 5 point games came as the top line of Larkin, Kadri and Tarasenko was reunited after playing several games with Tarasenko on line 2 in an attempt to get more offense from the middle of the lineup. On the colder side of the ledger, Ryan Getlaf,Marcus Foligno and Artturi Lehkonen had only 3 points, while Yakov Trenin, Janne Kuokkanen and Rocco Grimaldi had only 2. Suffice to say the middle part of the lineup has struggled to produce offense. The only move by management came as Nicolas Deslauriers was picked up off of waivers and plugged into the 4th line, while Michael Carcone was sent to the minors. Goaltending sees both Holtby and Reimer with improved GAA and SV%.
Roadrunning : The farm team appears to have righted the ship somewhat with a 5-4-1 record in the past 10. Carcone and Bokondji Imama joined Tucson, but neither has had a big impact. Imama was injured in his second game, which gave an opportunity to Matthew Strome, who subsequently has scored in 3 straight games after moving up to the 2nd line. Cayden Primeau has managed to get his GAA below 4, actually among the top 15, while Prosvetov is still in the high 4's.
