Yotes Notes : After 10 games the Coyotes find themselves outside the playoff picture with a 3-6-1 record. A season opening 6 game road netted the team 2 wins, before they finally had their home opener and announced the teams leadership group. Nazem Kadri was named captain, and Marcus Foligno and Damon Severson were named assistants.
Led by the Larkin-Kadri-Tarasenko line, Arizona has scored at a decent clip. All three are clipping along at above a point per game so far, while the 2nd and 3rd lines have struggled finding an identity. The 4th line hasn't contributed much as each of them only have 1 point. Their defense has let them down, giving up almost 4.5 goals per game. Both Braden Holtby and recently acquired James Reimer have struggled with sub .900 save percentages.
Arizona heads out on the road for their next 14 games, as renovations continue on their arena.
Roadrunning : The minor league team has had better success, running out to a 6-3-1 record after 10 games. Nolan Patrick and Logan Stanley have been leading the way on offense, while the tandem of Cayden Primeau and Ivan Prosvetov have alternated starts in goal. Team defense remains a problem, as the team has given up over 4 goals per game, but the offense has compensated with more than 5 goals per game.
Rumours : The rumour mill has heard that possible UFA Ryan Getzlaf has discussed his contract situation with the team, but hasn't decided whether the teams current situation matches his goals for the year. Rocco Grimaldi has let management know that he will be testing the free agent market. Dylan Larkin is rumoured to be in contract talks to stay with the team over the long term, but no announcement has been made yet.
