After a surprising run into the playoffs last season, despite such an ATROCIOUS pre-season, the Devils did some moving and shaking during the offseason. There is some excitement surrounding the prospects who have joined the team. Mercer will break into the opening night roster. The others will join the farm in hopes of moving the 12th place team in the Conference (last in their division) into the playoffs. The Devils return an improved on the second-best GAA corps from last season, sending an improved and (slightly) younger (kind of sort of) blueline. Another small but cool addition this coming season to the Rock is the distinct “Jersey” silhouette on the center line on the ice. Word is Swayman was the cause of many calls to GM Bollentin, which a single word was the universal answer: no. Rumors are the young netminder made some significant strides over the summer, many are eager to see how he does with the improved (on paper anyway) defense. Only time will tell just how improved the team is with the changes and if they can recapture the magical run they started and ran most of the season with.
