Yes you all read that right. Sure this team didn’t make the inaugural playoffs of the PFHL, but is it possible that the leagues most valuable player is a Bruin? Now I know what you are all thinking, Charlie McAvoy or maybe Darnell Nurse…….nope….not them.
Could it be the nicely rerated Taylor Hall? Wrong again!
Connor Garland, Anthony Mantha? No “Sir”
Ok, We are really starting to get confused here. We’ll Chris Dreider looks poised to take over the number one spot from Tuukka after being acquired for a first round pick. Still wrong “Sir”. Perhaps you need to watch some old royal rumbles to figure this out??
The player we are talking about who “could be” the leagues MVP, was acquired by Boston in a deal back on March 10th with the Ottawa Senators that saw Tyler Seguin moved out.
Here is the deal:
TRADE : From Ottawa Senators to Boston Bruins : Johnny Gaudreau (78), Zemgus Girgensons (73), Y:2024-RND:2-OTT.
[2022-03-10 6:55:37 PM] - TRADE : From Boston Bruins to Ottawa Senators : Tyler Seguin (78), Anders Bjork (70), Yegor Zamula (P).
Now, you look at that trade and the first thing that jumps out is Johnny Hockey……
But wait a sec, didn’t Boston trade him before the deadline? Huh….
Based on my private messages, a great deal of you bow know who I’m talking about.
While he doesn’t immediately stand out as an MVP player, he certainly must be the league MOST REQUESTED player in trade offers.
Zemgus Girgensons, the Latvian Locomotive as of yesterday has now been asked for in trade from 10 different PFHL teams. TEN!
So what makes this guy so highly sought after?
Well he’s a very reasonable 2.2 million per year and signed for 3 seasons. He has a high defense rating for a forward, and a 91 discipline. Also weighing in is these cheap ass teams are trying to land a quality roster player, who is “the ideal” third line center who can also play up the lineup when needed and first line pk, by moving out solely futures to a team that didn’t make the playoffs last year.
These Bruins aren’t willing to move out roster players without roster talent in return. I WILL NOT WRITE OFF THE SEASON BEFORE IT EVEN BEGINS!
Oh and because you are just about to ask….
The second most asked about player(7 teams), who is the even better but more expensive version of Girgensons, ADAM LOWRY is also not available for future assets.
Preseason is upon us. Good luck everyone!
