Extremely busy off-season for Avalanche. Numerous players left and came. Many players did not even had time to unpack their bags and they were already traded somewhere else.
Colorado’s management decided to start to sell new jerseys for coming season after today’s (4.9.2022) Lemieux/Rubtsov trade.
GM Kalmi: “I can now confirm that our busy trading period is over. Rubtsov trade fills the 4th line C position, and our team is complete.”
J. Nieminen: “A lot of criticism has been given for some of the trades. Can you comment?”
GM Kalmi: “Well, sometimes shit happens. Every trade is a risk.”
J. Nieminen: “What is the prediction for the season?”
GM Kalmi: “We all know that it will be long and hard season, let’s not fool ourselves. Even as fantastic talent Bedard is possible to have at next draft, we won’t be tanking. Our plan is to play as well as we can and hopefully get fair amount of points. Farm team seems pretty good with Sillinger coming in, so hopefully will bring some positive results as well.”
