Montreal was looking to move a couple third round picks for prospects . Powell ranked #9 on Tampa's prospect list in May of this year and is only 20 . This is what they said about him:
This prospect defenseman takes good angles on defense and will run a guy into the net. His skating is good, and his passing is excellent. Powell is a good penalty killer too.
Montreal is not sure we'd get those qualities in a guy we picked at # 65. Thanks Brad for quick & easy trade.
