To Washington:
Jamie Oleksiak (50% retained) Jason Zucker Steven Lorentz Pyotr Kochetkov (p) Anttoni Honka (p) Jackson Blake (p) CAR 3rd 2024
To Carolina:
Travis Sanheim Dylan Strome Eetu Makiniemi (p) WSH 4th 2022 WSH 3rd 2023 WSH 1st 2024
The Carolina Hurricanes agree to the trade posted above. This one has been in the works since, well probably following the dispersal draft. I have been looking to move some prospects for picks so that I could select my own prospects. Mr.Williams is a Caps fan. That happened in the deal. The key to this deal was Kochetkov. I really did not want to move him, but through many talks, we came to this grouping of stuff, and I am happy with the return. Strome can play on our 2nd line, and fill in on our top line should that be needed.

I agree to this deal. Was a culmination of talks since I joined the league. As many of you know, I'm looking to rebuild this team and wanted a franchise goaltender to build around. I believe Kochetkov is that player. Swapping Makiniemi and a first for Kochetkov and a third was something I feel made sense. Moving Sanheim and Strome for decent prospects Honka and Blake and bringing in Oleksiak and Zucker to fill their spots was something I was ok doing during this rebuild. Pretty happy with this deal being a Canes fan as I am bringing in a lot of familiar faces.
Thanks Wes for the long and successful talks!
