With only 4 teams left battling it out on the ice, the rest of the PFHL franchises are busy scraping and dangling in their offseason work. The hockey world is melting with joy these days regarding its on ice product, but not to take a spot on the bench is the up ice rush of chatter and rumors circling around the net. As contract talks hit the post and organizational ties are breaking their sticks, the Carolina Hurricanes are planning a massive storm surge which can be seen on the horizon of...... 2024-2025? Expect light rain, maybe some hail until then.
We know the team hopes that captain PLD is a long term core piece. Is there anyone else on their current pro roster that is seen as a core piece of the Hurricane's future? Well possibly Sam Reinhart and or Andre Burakovsky. We expect that the organization hopes to hang onto at least one of the two of these guys for a while.
The Hurricanes recently re-signed 21 yr old RFA Dylan Cozens to a 1 yr contract extension. It is expected that Carolina will be sending Cozens along with LWer Alexis Lafreniere to their (NHL) re-rate camp this offseason. The 2 are seen as potential core pieces of the organization's future.
With the organization's focus mainly looking towards the future, expect to see a lot of youth injected into the Carolina lines over these next couple of season's. With a deep, strong prospect pool to dive into, Canes Gm and team president Wes Mucyk is really confident in his organization's future. GM and Team President Wes Mucyk "I am Really confident in the organization's future."
There are 3 names in particular that come up every time you speak to someone around the team regarding its potential core pieces going forward. Those names being of the Dmen Simon Edvisson and Alexander (The BOOM) Nikishin along with RWer Dylan Guenther
How long can Carolina keep its top line happy and wanting to be here when the rest of the team is playing poorly. When will this help from its youth get here? Will Jake Gardiner be bought out? or will he be up for the Norris trophy?
Kate Beckinsale "Wes works me so hard, just pounding it out on his desk. My body is killing me."
